The Christmas album my friend Brooke and I recorded last year is still available as a free download: it’s a quiet, acoustic album of Christmas standards called Songs to Sing Around a Dead Tree to Soothe It Back to Life.
More interesting, though, is that I licensed it under the Creative Commons Share Alike License, which means, you can take the tracks and do whatever you like with them.
In that spirit, I’ve put up the the individual tracks as well, so you’re not stuck with my mediocre production skills. If you want to remix the album, you’re welcome to. If you want to add something else to a song, a totally sweet back beat, or something, go to town. If you need a free acoustic guitar arrangment of a Christmas carol, feel free to use mine.
The only thing I ask is that you send me a copy (or a link to a copy) when you get it done.
Who knows how much cool stuff could be done with what I’ve done, but I hate to see it just sit on my hard drive.
Note: the music is hosted on my home server, which will be down periodically this late November weekend b/c I have to unplug things while we paint the basement. Go figure. We should be done by Dec 1.
