Open A .pub File without Publisher, or Why Open File Formats Are A Good Idea

Recently, I’ve been try­ing to save my (per­sonal) Word doc­u­ments as .rtf instead of .doc. My thought is that there’s no rea­son for some­body to have to spend $100–350 on Microsoft Word to look at mod­er­ately for­mat­ted text files.
