Racism and The Church
Brent, of Collosians Three Sixteen fame, really hits the nail on the head with his latest post about racism in the church. This is a problem that I’m just as much a part of as anybody, but it’s one that I’m pretty frustrated that I don’t feel like there’s much movement in the church as [...]
I Told You So
I’ve been saying this forever: if you start feeling bad and you focus on it and keep thinking about how bad you feel, you’ll feel even worse. But if you do your best to try to feel good and be/act positive, you’ll feel a lot better. Now that I’ve moved back to Illinois, it turns [...]
Energy Use
Here’s a really interesting article about energy use, what’s using a lot of energy and what’s not. From the article, “If I really want to save money, the gadgets to look at aren’t computers and chargers, but things my grandparents had.” It’s worth the read.
Church Shopping
We’ve visited a lot of churches. It’s weird to be shopping for a church. I’m still waiting for somebody to invite us out to dinner with them. Let this be a lesson to each an every one of you who thinks you have a friendly church: if you’re going to dinner after church and you’re [...]
An Open Letter to My Brother
You were asking last week about postmodernism and whether or not it’s just artsy-fartsy types rising up against an engineer-dominated society and demanding they be put in charge. One More Kiss Before I Go
In the spirit of true teen bloggers everywhere, I decided to title this post with a song title that’s a) in my head and b) vaguely appropriate. Really this post is just an update–I feel like I haven’t blogged in a while. I haven’t really felt creative in a while. By ‘creative,’ I mostly mean ‘like [...]
Spam and Marketing
I’m ‘in’ a webinar about email marketing right now. Don’t ask me what a webinar is. I’m 40 minutes into it, but as far as I can tell it’s a conference call w/ a powerpoint presentation to go along w/ it. Only the ‘projector’ is some sort of online, java-based, real-time thing. Anyways, listening to [...]
5 Button Mouse
The tech guys gave me a 5 button mouse. It’s pretty worn but seems to work good. Now I’ve got two new buttons. And no way to configure them past forward and back. I can’t find any driver software for the dumb thing.…Anybody got any ideas how to configure a 5-button mouse?
Capitalism, Selfishness, and The End of the World!
It’s really suprsing to me how many comments I’ve gotten about this whole economic thing, and how much people care about it. I like it. I like that people are having some interesting discussion about it all. Here’s my sum-up and thoughts so far: 1. to Jaime: I think you’re a nice person, but you’re crazy [...]
