Bezier Curves

You know what I’ve never understood? Bezier curves. You know, the wierd curvy lines that photoshop does that never really make any sense and somehow let smart people draw really cool stuff. Well, I’m beginning to figure it out. Here’s a page that at least explains what the crap those extra lines that show up [...]

Old Wineskins

There’s a couple posts on the Language Log about Jesus’ wineskins metaphor. The first one isn’t particularly interesting from a Christian perspective: linguists hears interesting metaphor and eventually realizes it’s from the Bible. You can pick up a 16mb mp3 on this page, and watch a couple concert videos while you’re at it. The Lord God Bird song, which he wrote for Arkansas and NPR is here, in care you [...]

Review of Ramblin’ Man

Here’s a review of Ramblin’ Man, the Woody Guthrie biography I just finished up (his autobiographical novel is next). Basically, the reviewer takes the author to task for never really coming out and saying Guthrie was an avowed communist. She’d rather he be a good commie, and not this watered-down “American” nonsense (it took me the [...]
