Bags of Water DOKeep The Flies Out

As it turns out, those ziplock bags of water DO keep the flies out. At least, according to Straight Dope they do. Who knew? Not me, that’s for sure.

Postmodernism and Church History

So, for a while now, I’ve been promising a post about postmodernism and past, namely addressing some concerns I’ve been hearing (mostly from my buddy Ken) about how po-mo folks just want to throw the past out and disregard church history. Let me start w/ my thesis: bull. There, I said it. It’s just not [...]

My Morning Jacket on Letterman

Check it: a youtube of My Morning Jacket on Letterman w/ the Boston Pops. It’s a pretty good show…kind of weird, but not unlistenable. I didn’t know they looked so Jack Black, though. Funny. All in all, it makes me want to download another MMJ show. I think I’ll download the next one that comes [...]

On Paul And Multiculturalism

Here’s a great (albeit long) article on Paul’s view of multiculturalism. The lady who wrote it is Jewish (not a Christian) AND a woman, so she’s got a rather unique position to critique things. I think, though, she’s got some good insight. What she says seems to make sense. I’d like to give you a [...]

Global Warming

I used to be diametrically opposed to environmentalism. That was when I lived in the middle of the country, and couldn’t imagine more than 10,000 people living in one place at a time. Now, living in a town of even 50,000, having been out to the dump more times than the average person, I know I [...]

Hack Into A Bank The Easy Way

Check this article out. A security audit hacked into a bank just by leaving usb flash drives (w/ a trojan on it) laying around. Brilliant. And scary.

Great Cartoons

Ok. Every so often, I go to studylight.org instead of biblegateway b/c they have a lot more/better commentaries, and more/different versions. On the home page, there’s always a link to a cartoon. Here’s the one for today. They’re almost always that stupid. In fact, they’re so bad that they’re really pretty dang funny. I mean, [...]

Addr.com Strikes Again

Once again, I’ve bitten bit in the butt by the collosal failure of a buisness that is addr.com. Back in the day, they were the web host for christoncampus.org. My favorite part of that experience was when they stuck spam filtering on my account without telling me, and then configured it so poorly that anything [...]

Awesome Tiny PC

Check this out: a pc small enough to fit into a wall socket box. That’s just crazy. Tiny hard drive (it’s flash memory), of course, but if you had it connected (wirelessly, although the description implies that it has an ethernet port somewhere which (this is cool) can be used to power it, too) to [...]

More on Creating Icons

As it turns out, the GIMP can edit/create icon files. You save the different options all as different layers. Then when you go to save it, there’s a plugin that stiches it all together right for you. Ugh. Now, if I could just learn to draw w/ the pencil.
